When Social Media Collides
Amusing incident just now on Facebook when psychoticbanana, owlett and myself started gushing over a TARDIS-related post on psychoticbanana’s wall and came up with multiple brilliant marketing ideas which frankly the BBC should be paying us millions for. Get on it, BBC. I didn’t know owlett’s civilian identity until just now either and we had a moment of mutual enthusing over...

Remastered Version
Caitlin: This old version of "Oregon Girl" sounds so different. And it sounds like they are saying "Owegon Girl".
James: Yeah, it's odd. I was like 'Wow awesome alternate version!' Then I was like 'I want my old one back please.'
Caitlin: I can't get over "Owegon". They keep saying it. "Build a house up on an Owegon hill."
James: I can't stop laughing at it now. I can just imagine them being all like "Hmm, so we've got a great concept here, but I think it's just not going to cut it for the 'O.C.' crowd in its current form. Maybe change the Owegon to Oregon?" Then having a big argument about it because it was supposed to be an 'artistic choice' to have it that way.
Caitlin: That is EXACTLY what happened.

Sandy Hollow, Part 3
First part here, second part here. Are you sitting comfortably? Then I’ll continue. _____________________________________________________________ “Why not?” asked Evan, leaning on the slightly sticky counter at the petrol station. He was sure it would be one of those hilariously drawn-out misunderstandings – an argument over who had won the crab-racing competition, or which year Phar Lap...

Not to be a downer in the festive season, but...
… I was thinking about family today (namely all the family I will be seeing today and on Saturday) and also Harry Potter, because come on. I am ALWAYS thinking about Harry Potter. But something struck me as I dragged my copy of  Deathly Hallows out from under the bed where it had fallen sometime when I fell asleep reading - Petunia, Vernon and Dudley are Harry’s only surviving...

mymomreviewsmyphotos: FURBALL FLASHBACK 2010 Please enjoy this rather bittersweet video of all 361 of our photos in under 60 seconds. For some reason I set it to an emotional score by Jon Brion and it seems quite sad. In retrospect something a bit more upbeat may have been a better choice, but I have to be on a plane in a few hours and there’s no time to change it. I guess all good things...

Just Quietly.
The Daily What posted a picture of Frank Gehry’s design for the new building at UTS. Heck yes it did. HECK YES. Side note: holy crap, our uni is going to look weird. We’ve already got the Ugliest Building In Sydney, now we’re going to have the bizarrest.

jimdandytotherescue: It’s even less OK when I go on to say “ya’ don’t owe it to ya’self, ya’ owe it ta me. Cus ta’morra I’monna wake up and I’monna be 50, and I’monna still gunna be doin’ this shit…” etc. etc. Good Will Hunting should only be watched on a big screen TV, read in the screenplay that I bought today, or in my head. No one in bars is interested and I now understand that. But I got...

List of celebrities that have been in Australia Sydney in the last two weeks: - Oprah - U2 - Jay-Z and Beyonce - Jake Gyllenhall - Anne Hathaway - Hugo Weaving and Cate Blanchett (not as surprising) Plus David Beckham was in Newcastle about two or three weeks ago and my brother met him. ‘Tis the season to be Down Under, apparently. Side note: just saw U2 perform, and holy shit. For an...

Ridiculously Cheap Tripod. →
If you click that link/title up there you will be taken to Ebay where there is a tripod of the exact sort that I am looking for that is for sale for $4.79. It’s from Hong Kong and they will ship it to me for free. I am trying to find the catch here, and I suspect that it will be that the tripod is actually terrible, but I don’t think I can resist spending less than five dollars to find...
